Lego Club, Friday, Sept 12, 3:00-4:00 pm. Kids ages 5+, come build Lego challenges, have snacks, and get creative with other enthusiasts. Second Friday of the month. Adult supervision appreciated.

Role-Playing Game Coyote & Crow, Tuesday, Sept 23, 5:00-7:00 pm. Join us for a tabletop RPG experience. New players welcome.

Teen Board Game Club, Friday, Sept 26, 3:00-4:30 pm. Tweens and Teens (12+), come play fun board games and have snacks the fourth Friday of the month. We have a large assortment of popular games to choose from. Drop-ins welcome!

Tech Help, Mondays, 3:00-5:00 pm. Schedule your one-on-one 30-minute slot for help with technical issues. (Next tech Monday will be September 15.)

Storytime, Fridays, 11:00-11:30 am. Bring your little ones to the library for stories and crafts. All ages welcome.

📚Summer Reading 📚

Another successful Summer Reading program has come to an end. We had an excellent turnout this year, with 95 children participating. We had lots of fun events including concerts, puppets, and a magic show. We also made slime, painted rocks, and tie-dyed t-shirts!

Thank you to everyone who completed their reading logs. We were reading for the trees this year, and for each completed reading log turned in, the Skagit Conservation District planted a tree in the participant’s name.

Congratulations to Harper Voorhees, Nora Phillips, and Aubree Cravy, our Summer Reading Lego set winners!

Way to go everyone! We hope to see you all again next year!

Director’s Corner

School is back in session and fall weather is fast approaching. It is the perfect time to head to the library for a cozy read. September is library card sign-up month, so spread the word to anyone who has yet to sign up - cards are free for anyone who lives in the La Conner School District and give you access to more than just La Conner Swinomish Library!  You can use your card to check out books from all other libraries in Skagit County; you can sign up for a LIBBY online library account for access to eBooks, audiobooks, and emagazines; and you can access our Linked in Learning platform.  Come sign up for or renew your card today and receive a cool 3D printed bookmark!

🦕Foundation Corner 🦕

The La Conner Library Foundation was awarded a grant by HF Sinclair to fund STEM kits and VOX Books for the library. We are thrilled to introduce these into the library collection soon! The STEM kits are geared toward ages PreK to adult and span topics including anatomy, magnets, and memory. VOX Books are audio readers attached to print books that transform the print book into an all-in-one read-along experience. We will have options for both elementary and middle school youth.

We are incredibly grateful to the HF Sinclair Community Investment program. Their dedication to socially responsible funding of critical areas in the communities they serve makes a significant difference here in La Conner and Skagit County as a whole.
